Research report on the marketing skills of Gen Z

This research report investigates the social media use and related skills of young adults in Italy, Austria and Croatia. The results show that although this target group uses social media intensively, they often lack the necessary skills to use it professionally for marketing purposes

This Guideline supports SMEs that want to strengthen their online presence and use social media more effectively. It shows how young employees – especially from Generation Z – can become digital ambassadors within their companies and help drive visibility, customer engagement and innovation. Building on the insights and experiences gained during the Business Goes Viral project and its pilot activities, it offers practical examples and hands-on guidance for implementation in everyday business practice.

It explains why microlearning and microcredentials are becoming increasingly important and shows how training can become more flexible, practice-oriented and future-proof. Drawing on the experiences of the European project Business Goes Viral, it offers practical tips and examples for modern, effective learning design.

This challenge allowed our users to demonstrate their marketing skills not only theoretically, but above all practically and creatively. The task, in addition to a quiz, was to design a compelling and visually appealing Instagram post that would generate genuine engagement.
